History of the Breed
The Lagotto Romagnolo is an ancient Italian breed, originally bred to retrieve waterfowl. When the marshlands dried up, the breed was used to hunt for truffles given their keen sense of smell. Today they are an outgoing, energetic and loving breed that often needs a job to do. They can excel in scentwork, agility, dock diving, rally and more. Their non shedding coat needs regular maintenance and grooming.

About us
Our first dog was acquired in 1982 and was a Labrador Retriever. We were fortunate to have been involved with some of the most influential dogs of recent times, while doing conformation, obedience, hunting tests and occasionally having a litter for nearly 30 years. Then we discovered the Lagotto Romagnolo and they stole our hearts. After two years of waiting for a puppy we finally acquired our first Lagotto in 2016. We immediately started getting more involved in the breed and learning everything we could learn about the breed standard, health and temperament. We have been involved with show, obedience, dock diving and fast cat amongst others.
We are committed to the health of the breed and do all the necessary health testing. We have limited litters but when we do breed we do so to improve the breed, and to breed the best possible companion for families. We raise our puppies in our home and we use a Program called Puppy Culture. Besides parents having DNA tests we test all of our puppies before they go home and the new owners get a copy of the DNA test results.
We are located in Colorado.
